Tollywood avoids clubbing
Once ferocious party animals Allu Arjun, Navdeep, Sharwanand, Mumait Khan, Rana et al are now barely seen in nightclubs. While partygoers fume at the lack of glam quotient in clubs, the stars prefer to stay aloof than risk being branded as drug users.
Worse still, a few nightclubs in the city are raided post midnight by the police and narcotics officials to check for any drug users. "I am not clubbing often in the city because most of my friends in the industry don't club as frequently as before," admits actress Mumait Khan, a self-proclaimed party animal.
While nightclubs are a strict no-no with stars now, house parties are proving to be big-time hits. Post shoot, they gather at a star's place or a director's office and party all night. The actors now don't need to worry as there are no paparazzi eyeing them or onlookers judging them for sipping a glass of wine.
Actress Bindu Madhavi, who's working in her maiden Tamil venture Veppam, says, "I wasn't in the town when actors' names were flashed on TV channels insinuating that they were involved in drugs. It is good to be partying in friend's places or decent restaurants where the murky acts of some don't damage our image. I continue to party because I know I am clean."
