It's official: Tees Maar Khan is a remake
Now, it emerges that Khan and co-producers UTV have officially bought the remake rights from Metro Goldwyn Mayer.
"The plot of the film (of pretending to shoot a film to get away with a robbery) is the same as After The Fox, which is very funny," says Khan. "But for some reason, the film didn't do well at that point, I don't know why. And we've changed everything else. Akshay isn't a master of disguise, the girl isn't his sister, we're on a moving train, and the villains have been changed. Everything's made bigger and brighter, and more relevant to today's scenario."
"And I haven't tried even once to make Akshay act like Peter Sellers," she added.
Italian neorealist master De Sica, best known for the 1948 classic Bicycle Thieves, ventured into spoofy territory with After The Fox, a 1966 comedy featuring Peter Sellers as a master of disguise who mounts a fake film production in order to get away with a daring gold heist.
In the process, the filmmaker lampooned fellow filmmakers Michelangelo Antonioni [ Images ], Federico Fellini [ Images ] and himself, among various other cinematic luminaries. Clearly this gives Khan, the director of Om Shanti Om [ Images ], quite the room for Bollywood-spoofing.
"I'm always torn apart by critics for my stories, and this time I can say the joke's on them and the story is by Neil Simon," laughs Farah, two days ahead of Tees Maar Khan's release.
Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming Bejawada Rowdylu
Everyone knows that Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming Bejawada Rowdylu is shrouded in secrecy. Though RGV is mum about the cast and plot, we know that the movie is based on the gangsters in Vijayawada, where RGV spent his engineering college days. The title song of Bejawada Rowdylu is already out and RGV recently gave a link from his Twitter page, which showed an animated kid dancing to the song. RGV sent shivers down the spine of viewers when he showed the bloody politics of Rayalaseema region in Rakht Charitra. Sources reveal that Bejawada Rowdylu too will be blatant in showing the dark side of Vijayawada. The movie, even before taking shape, is drawing criticism from Vijayawada-based politicians, who allege RGV to be an irresponsible man who makes profits by showing violence on screen.Vamsi Mohan calls RGV mad fellow

While Shah Rukh's patch ups with Vishal Bhardwaj, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sunil Gavaskar and Aishwarya Rai have been the talk of town for a while, it seems the actor is in no mood to mend his differences with ex-best friend Farah Khan.
It appears as though King Khan is still upset with Farah for choosing Akshay Kumar in Tees Maar Khan over him. On Sunday, at the Mumbai Police Mela in Andheri, Shah Rukh tried to sabotage Farah's Tees Maar Khan publicity campaign by diverting the crowd's attention.
Apparently, SRK, who was backstage at the time when Farah, Akshay and Katrina began the Tees Maar Khan act on stage, suddenly walked out into the audience, accompanied by his entourage of 8-10 bodyguards.
An eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror, "SRK and his bodyguards started walking towards the audience. Sab logon ka dhyaan SRK par chala gaya. And though they glanced at Farah, Akshay and Katrina, their attention was divided."
You wonder if Farah or Akshay noticed this. Says the eyewitness, "What could they do? Farah and Akshay just shrugged their shoulders and smiled."
All three Farah, Akshay and Katrina completed their act but Shah Rukh had definitely managed to steal the limelight away from them to a great extent.
Added the eyewitness, "Surely, SRK knew what he was doing. If a person of his stature walks into the audience, whose head wouldn't turn?"
Grapevine has it that SRK too is waiting with bated breath for Tees Maar Khan to release in theatres, to see if his absence in the film has any effect on its collections. But that's something only time will tell.

mallika:malaika hot to me
Her gift of the gab only serves to heighten the charm of"mallika sherawat"Quotable quotes, fast and furious, emanate from Sherawat who clearly makes the day (noon, eve and night too) for pen pushers angling for a celeb with spunk.
Sample this one, for starters: "I'd like to seduce the whole country," states Mallika, speaking of 'Seduction 2011,' her enigmatic performance in the show slated for Dec 31, 2010 at a swanky five star hotel in Mumbai.
"I'm a salt of the Indian earth and my heart beats for my country, no matter where I stay," says Sherawat. "I'm like the tree whose branches and leaves are spread all over, but the roots are in India."
Peeved over allegations that a large section of telly viewers found her dances to be rather indecent Mallika sweetly socks it back stating, "Well, if you find it so vulgar, switch off your TV. Nobody has put a gun to your head and forced you to watch my performance."
When queried about whether she'd like to groove to 'Munni badnaam' or 'Sheila ki jawaani', Mallika states, "I'd go with whatever my fans want me to dance to. Their wish is my command."
A similar sounding name to Malaika, both famed for their seductive bit and sharp gyrations in chartbusters, Mallika, canny star that she is, squashes all comparisons between her and Arbaaz's spouse stating, "For me, Malaika is the hottest Khan."

From a nurse to a sex worker, it could be the most radical character overhaul in modern Hindi cinema.
From a nurse to a sex worker, it could be the most radical character overhaul in modern Hindi cinema.
Karan Johar’s remake of the 1990 film Agneepath starring Hrithik, is surely going to be a hell lot different from the Mukul Anand film that fetched Amitabh bachchan a National Award. We hear that to make the film appealing to the present-day movie aficionado, Karan has decided to dump the character of the nurse played by Madhavi in the original and replace it with a dark complexioned sex worker.
Whoa! That’s some character transformation.
But here’s the clincher. Karan has reportedly zeroed down onPriyanka chopra to play the role. We hear that PC will play a prostitute named Kaali in the remake.
Just a few weeks back, Karan had said that he can’t envision PC playing a nurse. Now we know what he had on his mind.

Katrina Kaif was scared to dance in 'Sheila Ki Jawani'
Everyone in the industry who has worked with Farah Khan knows that the lady is a tough taskmaster. Naturally, the pressure was high on Katrina Kaif while shooting Sheila Ki Jawani for Tees Maar Khan. The actress was dead scared.
Kat is not that good a dancer (judging from her earlier dancing numbers), and she had never done a proper smoldering item song till now. So, before doing Sheila Ki Jawani she was frightened that Farah might scold or shout at her for not getting the steps right. In fact, the film’s lead actor Akshay Kumar too has admitted that Farah is ‘bossy’ and many men are scared of her.
Though the choreographer-director was confident about Kat, the actress wasn’t sure whether she will be able to pull off this sizzling number. The song, full on jhatka-matka, required Kat to move her body like Shakira and act like Madhuri Dixit.
As Kat is quoted as saying about dancing to Sheila Ki Jawani, “I was getting cold feet and my hands were shaking.”
Who will believe this; Kat is incredible in the song, isn’t she!

Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra are all set to tie the knot early next year. Or are they? According to reports circulating in the media, an engagement is soon on the cards for this actress – director jodi who apparently came close while working on various films together. Rani Mukherjee – Aditya Chopra relationship had created quite a furore in the recent past when the news first surfaced in the media. Apparently, Aditya’s relationship with Rani was the cause of his breakup with Payel Khanna, his wife for eight years.
Though the news has not been confirmed by the families of Rani Mukherjee or Aditya Chopra, media has been speculating on the impending wedding ever since Payel Khanna filed divorce papers last year. It had also been reported then that Yash Chopra, father of Aditya Chopra and the head of the Yash Raj Films, did not support his son when he started his illicit relationship with Rani.
If all goes according to plans, the couple will get engaged formally early next year and will also tie the knot very soon after the engagement. Though Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra have been in a relationship for quite a long time now, they have been very low key about their affair.

Sonakshi is not game for lovemaking scenes
We have reported earlier that actress Sonakshi Sinha has been signed for Race 2 produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Abbas-Mustan. A section of the media reported that she would shed her innocent look in Dabangg and get steamy in Race 2. But the latest we hear is that she is against lovemaking and steamy scenes.
It is reported that Race 2 starring Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham
and Deepika Padukone would be lot hotter than the original version but Sonakshi has drawn a line for herself. It is said that she has made it clear to the makers of Race 2 that she would not do lovemaking and steamy scenes whatsoever.
Well, it will be interesting to see how Sonakshi fairs in the midst of hot guys!
Mallika Sherawat is hot and sexy
Mallika Sherawat is hot and sexy, and she is also candid. Therefore, the Bollywood bombshell does not shy away from speaking her mind out. She wrote on her Twitter page that 'Salman Khan is a pussycat', Shahrukh Khan is 'king of charisma' and Hrithik Roshan is 'Talent plus beauty! Lethal'.
When she was asked by her followers on her micro blogging site as to who her favourite Khan from the film industry was, Mallika Sherawat did not waste a minute before replying. And why should she waste time, as she has only three options to choose from, Aamir, Shahrukh or Salman. However, none of the Bollywood biggies have been able to win the heart of Mallika darling. So is it Saif Ali Khan or the rising star Imran Khan?
You may keep guessing but never will you be able to arrive at the correct name! Well, Mallika Sherawat’s favourite Khan from Bollywood is Malaika Arora Khan! Now, who would have expected this answer? We are well aware of how the ladies in Bollywood always remain at daggers drawn towards each other, and we are also aware that both Mallika and Malaika vie for the number one item girl tag of the Hindi film industry. But that definitely is not reason enough for Mallika Sherawat to stop praising Malaika Arora Khan

Nayan replaces Trisha in Venkatesh’s Savitri
Looks like Nayanthara, who thought of taking a break from films and marry Prabhudeva, has changed her decision. Nayanatara has been on a signing spree again. Recently she bagged Sita’s role in Balakrishna, Bapu film ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’. The latest film in her kitty is ‘Savitri’ starring Venkatesh in the lead role.
Teja is the director of Savithri that is expected to start rolling from the month of January. Nayanthara has been facing legal troubles from Prabhu Deva’s wife Ramlath and hence, she has postponed her plans to marry him in a hurry. That is the reason why she is signing films again. Nayan is only taking up matured roles that don’t need any skin show.
Trisha recently said that she liked Anushka'
Actress Trisha Krishnan, who has been in the film industry for over a decade, is jealous of Anushka Shetty. The reason is that the latter has done a role, which the former has not got the chance to portray till date. Trisha recently said that she liked Anushka's prostitute role in the film Vedam.
Trisha, who saw the movie recently, showered praises on Anushka by saying that the actress has done complete justice to the character. Her body language, acting and her looks were wonderful, says the actress. She also added that she was quite jealous and felt bad for not acting in such roles.
Trisha said that she has done many films in her career, which had less scope for acting. She would love to play prostitute character if anyone comes up with a good script.
Priyanka is very particular about her image
Many celebrities
would jump in and say yes when it comes to earning quick money – be it an item number or performing at an event, but Priyanka Chopra is not game for it. The news is doing the rounds that she rejected a plump offer to performance on New Year’s eve.
It is said that Priyanka has been offered a whopping amount of Rs.3 crore to performance at a 5-star hotel on New Year’s eve. She would demand only a little more than a crore for a role in a film but she has been offered the double amount for a performance which would require just a few hours of her time. But the actress politely turned down the offer, saying that she is not comfortable dancing in front of a live audience.
Well, it looks like Priyanka is very particular about her image and even money couldn’t tempt her into something that she is not comfortable with
Yana’s pantyless pics in the papers
Rizwan Ahmed, a social activist from Lucknow, has filed a legal case against Yana, the photographer who clicked her, and the organizer of the event under the sections 292, 293 and 294 of Indian Penal Code.
According to Ahmed, he was shocked to see Yana’s pantyless pics in the papers and was most offended when she laughed off the faux pas and boasted about being the ‘no-panty girl’.
Ahmed feels it was a publicity stunt done by Yana in connivance with the photographer and the organizer of the event.
The court has summoned the three for a hearing on Monday, December 6.

Ram Charan recently made a statement about this film that nothing had been conformed yet. He said that they have not finalized anything not even the story. We are not sure whether it would be a commercial, socio- fantasy or a social awareness film. We are considering the life story of Uyyavula Narasimha Reddy but not conformed it. He also made it clear that none of the director has been conformed for the film.
Personally, Ram Charan wants to see Chiru in Tagore type of film. Apart from politics, Chiru is spending one and half hour time to listen to the scripts daily.
So, the anxiety still continues. The film is expected to go on sets in February, 2011. For the viewers to remember, Chiru has stated about this film in the past that it is going to have social message with all the commercial ingredients. Lets hope the final outcome will be the same.
Sanjay Dutt & Hrithik to share screen again
They were earlier critically acclaimed for their performances in ‘Mission Kashmir’. And now they will soon share the screen space for a remake project – the original movie which was hailed one of the best landmarks in Hindi cinema.
We are talking about Amitabh Bachchan’s hit movie ‘Agneepath’ which is gonna be remade by debutant director Karan Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. While the buzz was making in rounds for some time that Hrithik Roshan will play the lead in this one, latest our birdies revealed that Sanjay Dutt has been signed on for the villain’s role, Kancha Cheena – the popular negative character of the film played by Danny Denzongpa.
Well, interestingly Sanjay supposedly be donning a bald look here. But it’s said that the actor is yet to confirm things concerning his hairdo, as he has several projects on hands for which he cannot afford to play on his looks. So the hairdo aspect will be decided later.
As a matter of fact, birdies heard that this negative role was initially meant for Rishi Kapoor.
Hmmm, looks like this movie will go on to be a milestone in Dutt’s career… What say?
Raajakeeyam," Varma posted on his Twitter page.
"Company was about underworld politics and Sarkar
was about family politics. But I never ever made a film on political politics. But now seeing the incredible drama unfolding, I have developed this tremendous desire to do a film called Raajakeeyam," Varma posted on his Twitter page.
"'Raajakeeyam' will deal with behind the scenes of political mechanisms and political psychologies. Hearing about what's going on behind the going ons...it dawned upon me that more than politics in underworld, there is more underworld in politics," he added.
RGVVarma has earlier made Rann, which was his attempt to unravel the politics in the media world. Filmmaker Prakash Jha also brought politics as a theme in his movie Raajneeti, which recieved rave reviews.

Rumours related to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Rumours related to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have again started making the rounds. The rumours, this time, are related to her pregnancy not in India but in Dubai.
But rumours have become such a routine affair for Ash that she does not even clarify them. We presume that she chooses to laugh it off.
Ash had some interviews scheduled in Dubai, but they were cancelled at the last moment leading to speculation among the small community of Indian journalists in the Middle East.
" Unless it is a case of dodgy Indian curries that is slowly but surely emanating, the rumour mills are grinding to grist the possibility of a classic Ash diva tantrum because she is pregnant," quoted the local newspaper in Dubai.
Sources had informed the newspaper that Ash was not well and hence had cancelled the said interviews. This is not the first time that the buzz about her pregnancy hasreached us.
Had we believed in all these gossips Ash and Abhishek should have had a few babies by now. We guess we should leave the couple alone and give them the benefit of doubt and the honour to make the announcement themselves.
After all, their marriage was the biggest ever in Bollywood and when the Bachchans will confirm any such news it would surely be the biggest one, too.

HIV/AIDS, starring Nagarjuna, Anushka
Nagarjuna and Anushka released the CDs of the short film in Telugu and English versions with the title ‘Prevention is better than cure’ at LV Prasad Eye Institute here on Friday. The programme was jointly organised by Nimmagadda Foundation and Teach AIDS.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagarjuna said that he gave his own voice for this 2D film. He called upon all NGOs to come out and help people suffering from the disease.
HIV/AIDS education through films has proven to be more effective than other approaches, with people, especially students learning and retaining information about HIV prevention without directly discussing sexually explicit or otherwise taboo topics.
Actress Anushka said that there was a need to discuss and educate students in classrooms to create awareness among them about the number of people who die due to the dreadful diseases in the country.
“We are initially releasing the 2D animated short films in association with Nimmagadda Foundation in Telugu and English. We are also planning to release more CDs in Kannada, Tamil, Marathi and Indian languages to communicate with the people,’’ said Piya Sorcar, founder of Teach AIDS.
Trisha Krishnan is very happy with the
South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan is very happy with the way her acting career is shaping up down south. Though her debut film in Bollywood did not fare well at the box-office, it has certainly not affected her demand in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Her upcoming Tamil film is opposite her screen idol Kamal Hassan. She is not only excited about her role that she has portrayed in Manmadhan Ambu (MA) but also about her stage performance with co-star Kamal Hassan during the audio launch of the film.
